Kei Kamara HeartShapedHands Foundation is a 501(c)(3) organization founded in 2012 by professional footballer and Sierra Leone native, Kei Kamara.
Originally, the US-based charity sought to provide scholarships to help motivated youth attend school in Sierra Leone. Throughout Kei’s initial work with the foundation, he began to see a bigger opportunity to help. Now HeartShapedHands Foundation aims to create an academy with world-class facilities to provide quality education and character development through athletics to the youth of Sierra Leone.
In Sierra Leone, educational and athletic opportunities for youth are limited and it is impossible to pursue both. Youth can be either a student or an ambitious athlete. HeartShapedHands Academy y (HSHA) seeks to establish a non- government associated program to give the youth of Sierra Leone the opportunity to become true student athletes.
This unique setting provides youth the ability to learn life-long skills on the field as well as in the classroom, to improve both themselves and their community.
